1. Pick 3 different colors. (The example uses red, white & blue). You will need 1 strand of red, 2 strands of white & 3 strands of blue.

2. Align string, fold in half, and tie knot ½ inch from fold forming a loop.

3. Attach your ½ inch loop to MYFBM under the butterfly clip.

4. Separate strings by placing one string per slot. Note: Use the same color in slots 1 & 4 (red), slots 2, 3 & 8 (white) & slots 5, 6, 7, 9 & 10 (blue). You will have one extra white strand & one extra blue strand. You will need to cut these two extra strings close to your knot. This will align the colors of your bracelet pattern.

5. To begin, take string #9 (blue) and make a right hand double knot with string #10 (blue). String #9 (blue) will now be in slot 10.

6. Take string #7 (blue) and make 3 right hand double knots. One each, on string #8 (white), string #9 (blue) & string #10 (blue). String #7 (blue) will now be in slot 10.

7. Take string #5 (blue) and make a right hand double knot with string #6 (blue). String #5 (blue) will now be in slot 6.

8. Take string #3 (white) and make a right hand double knot with string #4 (red). String #3 (white) will now be in slot 4.

9. Take string #7 (white) and make a single left single right hand knot with string #6 (blue). String #7 (white) will stay in slot 7.

10. Take string #8 (blue) and make a left hand double knot with string #7 (white). String #8 (blue) will now be in slot 7.

11. Take string #8 (white) and make a single right single left hand knot with string #9 (blue). String #8 (white) will stay in slot 8.

12. Take string #9 (blue) and make a right hand double knot with string #10 (blue). String #9 (blue) will now be in slot 10.

13. Take string #5 (blue) and make a single left single right hand knot with string #4 (white). String #5 (blue) will stay in slot 5.

14. Take string #1 (red) and make 3 right hand double knots. One each, on string #2 (white), string #3 (red) & string #4 (white). String #1 (red) will now be in slot 4.

15. Take string #5 (blue) and make 5 right hand double knots. One each, on string #6 (blue), string #7 (blue), string #8 (white), string #9 (blue) & string #10 (blue). String #5 (blue) will now be in slot 10.

16. Take string #5 (blue) and make a single left single right hand knot with string #4 (red). String #5 (blue) will stay in slot 5.

17. Take string #1 (white) and make 3 right hand double knots. One each, on string #2 (red), string #3 (white) & string #4 (red). String #1 (white) will now be in slot 4.

18. Take string #5 (blue) and make a right hand double knot with string #6 (blue). String #5 (blue) will now be in slot 6.

19. Take string #5 (blue) and make a single left single right hand knot with string #4 (white). String #5 (blue) will stay in slot 5.

20. Take string #7 (white) and make a single left single right hand knot with string #6 (blue). String #7 (white) will stay in slot 7.

21. Take string #8 (blue) and make a left hand double knot with string #7 (white). String #8 (blue) will now be in slot 7.

22. Take string #8 (white) and make a single right single left hand knot with string #9 (blue). String #8 (white) will stay in slot 8.

23. Take string #5 (blue) and make 2 right hand double knots. One each, on string #6 (blue) & string #7 (blue). String #5 (blue) will now be in slot 7.

24. Take string #1 (red) and make 3 right hand double knots. One each, on string #2 (white), string #3 (red) & string #4 (white). String #1 (red) will now be in slot 4.

25. Take string #5 (blue) and make a single left single right hand knot with string #4 (red). String #5 (blue) will stay in slot 5.

26. Take string #1 (white) and make 2 right hand double knots. One each, on string #2 (red) & string #3 (white). String #1 (white) will now be in slot 3.

27. At this point you have completed one rotation of the pattern. Repeat steps 5 – 26 to continue the pattern until your bracelet is long enough to fit your wrist.

28. Once you bracelet is long enough to fit your wrist take three strings from the slots 1 – 3 in your left hand and three strings from slots 8 – 10 in your right hand and braid with the remaining 4 center strings.

29. Take the braided strings and tie two basic knots at the end of your friendship bracelet.

30. Unclip your friendship bracelet from the clip and cut off the excess braided section. Your bracelet made with the friendship bracelet pattern Stars N Stripes is ready to wear or share!
