Puzzle (Autism Awareness) Design Tutorial

1. Pick 4 different color threads for this pattern. (The example uses 2 dark blue, 2 light blue, 2 yellow, and 2 red).
2. Align string, fold in half, and tie knot ½ inch from fold forming a loop.
3. Attach your ½ inch loop to MYFBM under the butterfly clip.
4. This pattern is going to use 12 threads. One thread will go to the left of slot 1 and be referred to as string #0 and the other will go to the right of slot 10 and be referred to as string #11. The first color will be in #0, #1, #2 (dark blue), the second in #3, #5, #7 (light blue), the third in #4, #6, #8 (yellow), and fourth in #9, #10, #11 (red). There will be 4 remaining strings (1 of each color). Simply cut them off close to the knot, you will not need these strings.

Row 1
5. Take string #0 and make a right hand double knot with string #1. String #0 will now be in slot 1.
6. Take string #2 and make a right hand double knot with string #3. String #2 will now be in slot 3.
7. Take string #5 and make a left hand double knot with string #4. String #5 will now be in slot 4.
8. Take string #6 and make a right hand double knot with string #7. String #6 will now be in slot 7.
9. Take string #8 and make a right hand double knot with string #9. String #8 will now be in slot 9.
10. Take string #10 and make a right hand double knot with string #11. String #10 will now be in slot 11.

Row 2
11. Take string #1 and make a right hand double knot with string #2. String #1 will now be in slot 2.
12. Take string #4 and make a left hand double knot with string #3. String #4 will now be in slot 3.
13. Take string #6 and make a left hand double knot with string #5. String #6 will now be in slot 5.
14. Take string #7 and make a right hand double knot with string #8. String #7 will now be in slot 8.
15. Take string #10 and make a left hand double knot with string #9. String #10 will now be in slot 9.

Row 3
16. Take string #0 and make a right hand double knot with string #1. String #0 will now be in slot 1.
17. Take string #2 and make a right hand double knot with string #3. String #2 will now be in slot 3.
18. Take string #4 and make a right hand double knot with string #5. String #4 will now be in slot 5.
19. Take string #6 and make a right hand double knot with string #7. String #6 will now be in slot 7.
20. Take string #8 and make a right hand double knot with string #9. String #8 will now be in slot 9.
21. Take string #10 and make a right hand double knot with string #11. String #10 will now be in slot 11.

Row 4
22. Take string #2 and make a left hand double knot with string #1. String #2 will now be in slot 1.
23. Take string #3 and make a right hand double knot with string #4. String #3 will now be in slot 4.
24. Take string #6 and make a left hand double knot with string #5. String #6 will now be in slot 5.
25. Take string #8 and make a left hand double knot with string #7. String #8 will now be in slot 7.
26. Take string #9 and make a right hand double knot with string #10. String #9 will now be in slot 10.

Row 5
27. Take string #0 and make a right hand double knot with string #1. String #0 will now be in slot 1.
28. Take string #2 and make a right hand double knot with string #3. String #2 will now be in slot 3.
29. Take string #4 and make a right hand double knot with string #5. String #4 will now be in slot 5.
30. Take string #7 and make a left hand double knot with string #6. String #7 will now be in slot 6.
31. Take string #8 and make a right hand double knot with string #9. String #8 will now be in slot 9.
32. Take string #11 and make a left hand double knot with string #10. String #11 will now be in slot 10.

Row 6
33. Take string #1 and make a right hand double knot with string #2. String #1 will now be in slot 2.
34. Take string #4 and make a left hand double knot with string #3. String #4 will now be in slot 3.
35. Take string #6 and make a left hand double knot with string #5. String #6 will now be in slot 5.
36. Take string #8 and make a left hand double knot with string #7. String #8 will now be in slot 7.
37. Take string #9 and make a right hand double knot with string #10. String #9 will now be in slot 10.
38. You’ve now completed one rotation of the pattern. Repeat steps 5-37 until your bracelet is long enough to wear. Once your bracelet fits around your wrist take strings 0-3 in your left hand, 8-11 in your right hand, and braid with the remaining center strands. Tie a double knot and cut off the remaining strands to finish your bracelet. Wear or share with a friend!
