Arrow Leaves Design Tutorial
1. Pick up to 5 threads (the example uses purple, brown, green, white and blue)
2. Align string, fold in half, and tie knot ½ inch from fold forming a loop.
3. Attach your ½ inch loop to MYFBM under the butterfly clip.
4. Separate strings by placing one string per slot. Note: Use the same color in slot 1 & 10 (purple), 2 & 9 (brown), 3 & 8 (green), 4 & 7 (white), and 5 & 6 (blue). This will align the colors of the arrow.
5. Use string 4 and make a right hand double knot on string 5. String 4 should end in slot 5.
6. Take string 7 and make left hand double knots on strings 6 and 5. String 7 should end in slot 5.
7. Take string 3 and make right hand double knots on strings 4 and 5. String 3 should end in slot 5.
8. Take string 8 and make left hand double knots on strings 7, 6 and 5. String 8 should end in slot 5.
9. Take string 2 and make right hand double knots on strings 3, 4 and 5. String 2 should end in slot 5.
10. With string 9, make left hand double knots on strings 8, 7, 6 and 5. String 9 should end in slot 5.
11. Use string 1 to make right hand double knots on strings 2, 3, 4 and 5. String 1 should end in slot 5.
12. Use string 10 to make left hand double knots on strings 9, 8, 7, 6 and 5. String should end in slot 5.
13. At this point you have finished your first arrow leaf! Repeat steps 5 through 13 with your new strings in place and watch your bracelet grow!
14. When you think your bracelet is long enough to fit around your wrist hold three strings from slots #1 #2 #3 with your left hand and three from slots #8 #9 #10 with your right hand. Braid the three strings from your left hand and right hand with the four strings left in slots in #4 #5 #6 #7.
15. Take the braided strings and tie two basic knots at the end of your friendship bracelet.
16. Unclip your friendship bracelet from the butterfly clip and cut off the excess braided section. Your bracelet made with the friendship bracelet pattern Arrow Leaves is ready to wear or share!
