Candy Corn Design Tutorial

1. Pick 4 different colors. (The example uses yellow, orange, black & white). You will need 1 strand of yellow, 1 strand of orange, 3 strands of black & 1 strand of white.

2. Align string, fold in half, and tie knot ½ inch from fold forming a loop.

3. Attach your ½ inch loop to MYFBM under the butterfly clip.

4. This pattern uses 12 strings which is exceeds the amount of slots that the MYFBM holds. You will have one loose string on each end. The string hanging loose on the left hand side will be referred to as string #0. The other loose string hanging on the right will be referred to as string #11. Separate strings by placing one string per slot. Note: Use the same color in slots 0, 2, 4, 6, 8 & 10 (black), slots 1 & 3 (yellow), slots 5 & 7 (orange) & slots 9 & 11 (white). This will align the strings of your bracelet pattern.

5. To begin, take string #0 (black) and make a single right single left hand knot with string #1 (yellow). String #0 (black) will stay in slot 0 (the outside left edge).

6. Take string #2 (black) and make a single right single left hand knot with string #3 (yellow). String #2 (black) will stay in slot 2.

7. Take string #4 (black) and make a single right single left hand knot with string #5 (orange). String #4 (black) will stay in slot 4.

8. Take string #6 (black) and make a single right single left hand knot with string #7 (orange). String #6 (black) will stay in slot 6.

9. Take string #8 (black) and make a single right single left hand knot with string #9 (white). String #8 (black) will stay in slot 8.

10. Take string #10 (black) and make a single right single left hand knot with string #11 (white). String #10 (black) will stay in slot 10.

11. Take string #2 (black) and make a single left single right hand knot with string #1 (yellow). String #2 (black) will stay in slot 2.

12. Take string #4 (black) and make a single left single right hand knot with string #3 (yellow). String #4 (black) will stay in slot 4.

13. Take string #6 (black) and make a single left single right hand knot with string #5 (orange). String #6 (black) will stay in slot 6.

14. Take string #8 (black) and make a single left single right hand knot with string #7 (orange). String #8 (black) will stay in slot 8.

15. Take string #10 (black) and make a single left single right hand knot with string #9 (white). String #10 (black) will stay in slot 10.

16. Take string #1 (yellow) and make a single left single right hand knot with string #0 (black). String #1 (yellow) will stay in slot 1.

17. Take string #3 (yellow) and make a single left single right hand knot with string #2 (black). String #3 (yellow) will stay in slot 3.

18. Take string #4 (black) and make a single right single left hand knot with string #5 (orange). String #4 (black) will stay in slot 4.

19. Take string #6 (black) and make a single right single left hand knot with string #7 (orange). String #6 (black) will stay in slot 6.

20. Take string #8 (black) and make a single right single left hand knot with string #9 (white). String #8 (black) will stay in slot 8.

21. Take string #10 (black) and make a single right single left hand knot with string #11 (white). String #10 (black) will stay in slot 10.

22. Take string #1 (yellow) and make a single right single left hand knot with string #2 (black). String #1 (yellow) will stay in slot 1.

23. Take string #3 (yellow) and make a single right single left hand knot with string #4 (black). String #3 (yellow) will stay in slot 3.

24. Take string #5 (orange) and make a single right single left hand knot with string #6 (black). String #5 (orange) will stay in slot 5.

25. Take string #8 (black) and make a single left single right hand knot with string #7 (orange). String #8 (black) will stay in slot 8.

26. Take string #10 (black) and make a single left single right hand knot with string #9 (white). String #10 (black) will stay in slot 10.

27. Take string #1 (yellow) and make a single left single right hand knot with string #0 (black). String #1 (yellow) will stay in slot 1.

28. Take string #3 (yellow) and make a single left single right hand knot with string #2 (black). String #3 (yellow) will stay in slot 3.

29. Take string #5 (orange) and make a single left single right hand knot with string #4 (black). String #5 (orange) will stay in slot 5.

30. Take string #7 (orange) and make a single left single right hand knot with string #6 (black). String #7 (orange) will stay in slot 7.

31. Take string #9 (white) and make a single left single right hand knot with string #8 (black). String #9 (white) will stay in slot 9.

32. Take string #10 (black) and make a single right single left hand knot with string #11 (white). String #10 (black) will stay in slot 10.

33. Take string #1 (yellow) and make a single right single left hand knot with string #2 (black). String #1 (yellow) will stay in slot 1.

34. Take string #3 (yellow) and make a single right single left hand knot with string #4 (black). String #3 (yellow) will stay in slot 3.

35. Take string #5 (orange) and make a single right single left hand knot with string #6 (black). String #5 (orange) will stay in slot 5.

36. Take string #7 (orange) and make a single right single left hand knot with string #8 (black). String #7 (orange) will stay in slot 7.

37. Take string #9 (white) and make a single right single left hand knot with string #10 (black). String #9 (white) will stay in slot 9.

38. Take string #1 (yellow) and make a single left single right hand knot with string #0 (black). String #1 (yellow) will stay in slot 1.

40. Take string #5 (orange) and make a single left single right hand knot with string #4 (black). String #5 (orange) will stay in slot 5.

41. Take string #7 (orange) and make a single left single right hand knot with string #6 (black). String #7 (orange) will stay in slot 7.

42. Take string #9 (white) and make a single left single right hand knot with string #8 (black). String #9 (white) will stay in slot 9.

43. Take string #11 (white) and make a single left single right hand knot with string #10 (black). String #11 (white) will stay in slot 11 (the outside right edge).

44. Take string #1 (yellow) and make a single right single left hand knot with string #2 (black). String #1 (yellow) will stay in slot 1.

45. Take string #3 (yellow) and make a single right single left hand knot with string #4 (black). String #3 (yellow) will stay in slot 3.

46. Take string #5 (orange) and make a single right single left hand knot with string #6 (black). String #5 (orange) will stay in slot 5.

47. Take string #7 (orange) and make a single right single left hand knot with string #8 (black). String #7 (orange) will stay in slot 7.

48. Take string #9 (white) and make a single right single left hand knot with string #10 (black). String #9 (white) will stay in slot 9.

49. Take string #1 (yellow) and make a single left single right hand knot with string #0 (black). String #1 (yellow) will stay in slot 1.

55. Take string #1 (yellow) and make a single right single left hand knot with string #2 (black). String #1 (yellow) will stay in slot 1.

56. Take string #3 (yellow) and make a single right single left hand knot with string #4 (black). String #3 (yellow) will stay in slot 3.

57. Take string #5 (orange) and make a single right single left hand knot with string #6 (black). String #5 (orange) will stay in slot 5.

58. Take string #8 (black) and make a single left single right hand knot with string #7 (orange). String #8 (black) will stay in slot 8.

59. Take string #10 (black) and make a single left single right hand knot with string #9 (white). String #10 (black) will stay in slot 10.

60. Take string #1 (yellow) and make a single left single right hand knot with string #0 (black). String #1 (yellow) will stay in slot 1.

61. Take string #3 (yellow) and make a single left single right hand knot with string #2 (black). String #3 (yellow) will stay in slot 3.

62. Take string #4 (black) and make a single right single left hand knot with string #5 (orange). String #4 (black) will stay in slot 4.

63. Take string #6 (black) and make a single right single left hand knot with string #7 (orange). String #6 (black) will stay in slot 6.

64. Take string #8 (black) and make a single right single left hand knot with string #9 (white). String #8 (black) will stay in slot 8.

65. Take string #10 (black) and make a single right single left hand knot with string #11 (white). String #10 (black) will stay in slot 10.

66. Take string #2 (black) and make a single left single right hand knot with string #1 (yellow). String #2 (black) will stay in slot 2.

67. Take string #4 (black) and make a single left single right hand knot with string #3 (yellow). String #4 (black) will stay in slot 4.

68. Take string #6 (black) and make a single left single right hand knot with string #5 (orange). String #6 (black) will stay in slot 6.

69. Take string #8 (black) and make a single left single right hand knot with string #7 (orange). String #8 (black) will stay in slot 8.

70. Take string #10 (black) and make a single left single right hand knot with string #9 (white). String #10 (black) will stay in slot 10.

71. At this point your pattern will now repeat itself. Repeat steps 5-70 to continue the pattern until your bracelet is long enough to fit your wrist.

72. Once you bracelet is long enough to fit your wrist take strings from the slots 0, 1, 2 & 3 in your left hand and the strings from slots 8, 9, 10 & 11 in your right hand and braid with the remaining 4 center strings.

73. Take the braided strings and tie two basic knots at the end of your friendship bracelet. 

74. Unclip your friendship bracelet from the butterfly clip and cut off the excess braided section. Your bracelet made with the friendship bracelet pattern Candy Corn is ready to wear or share!
