1. Pick 2 different colors. (The example uses dark blue & light blue – 2 strands of each color).

2. Align string, fold in half, and tie knot ½ inch from fold forming a loop.

3. Attach your ½ inch loop to MYFBM under the clip.

4. You will need 2 strands of dark blue & 2 strands of light blue to follow the tutorial. Note: Use the same color in slots 3, 4, 7 & 8 (dark blue) & slots 5 & 6 (light blue). Place one dark blue string in slots 3, 4, 7 & 8. In slots 5 & 6 you will put 2 light blue strings in each slot. By using two strings in slots 5 & 6 the center of your bracelet will “pop out” in your design. This will align the colors of your bracelet pattern.

5. To begin, take string #5 (light blue) and make a single right single left hand knot with string #6 (light blue). String #5 (light blue) will stay in slot 5.

6. Next, take string #3 (dark blue) and make a right hand double knot with string #4 (dark blue). String #3 (dark blue) will now be in slot 4.

7. Use string #4 (dark blue) and make a single right single left hand knot with string #5 (light blue). String #4 (dark blue) will stay in slot 4.

8. Take string #8 (dark blue) and make a left hand double knot with string #7 (dark blue). String #8 (dark blue) will now be in slot 7.

9. Now take string #7 (dark blue) and make a single left single right hand knot with string #6 (light blue). String #7 (dark blue) will stay in slot 7.

10. Next take string #5 (light blue) and make a single right single left hand knot with string #6 (light blue). String #5 (light blue) will stay in slot 5.

11. Use string #3 (dark blue) and make a right hand double knot with string #4 (dark blue). String #3 (dark blue) will now be in slot 4.

12. Now take string #4 (dark blue) and make a single right single left hand knot with string #5 (light blue). String #4 (dark blue) will stay in slot 4.

13. Take string #8 (dark blue) and make a left hand double knot with string #7 (dark blue). String #8 (dark blue) will now be in slot 7.

14. Use string #7 (dark blue) and make a single left single right hand knot with string #6 (light blue). String #7 (dark blue) will stay in slot 7.

15. Take string #5 (light blue) and make a single right single left hand knot with string #6 (light blue). String #5 (light blue) will stay in slot 5.

16. Take string #3 (dark blue) and make a right hand double knot with string #4 (dark blue). String #3 (dark blue) will now be in slot 4.

17. Take string #4 (dark blue) and make a single right single left hand knot with string #5 (light blue). String #4 (dark blue) will stay in slot 4.

18. Use string #8 (dark blue) and make a left hand double knot with string #7 (dark blue). String #8 (dark blue) will now be in slot 7.

19. Take string #7 (dark blue) and make a single left single right hand knot with string #6 (light blue). String #7 (dark blue) will stay in slot 7.

20. At this point your pattern will now repeat itself. Repeat steps 5-19 to continue the pattern until your bracelet is long enough to fit your wrist.

21. Once you bracelet is long enough to fit your wrist take two strings from slots 3 & 4 in your left hand and two strings from slots 7 & 8 in your right hand and braid with the remaining 4 center strings.

22. Take the braided strings and tie two basic knots at the end of your friendship bracelet.

23. Unclip your friendship bracelet from the butterfly clip and cut off the excess braided section. Your bracelet made with the friendship bracelet pattern Dashed Line is ready to wear or share!
