1. Pick 3 different colors. (The example uses white, dark blue & dark green – 1 strand of each).
2. Align string, fold in half, and tie knot ½ inch from fold forming a loop.
3. Attach your ½ inch loop to MYFBM under the butterfly clip.
4. Separate strings by placing one string per slot. Note: Use the same color in slots 3 & 8 (dark blue), slots 4 & 7 (white) & slots 5 & 6 (dark green). This will align the colors of your bracelet pattern.
5. To begin, take string #5 (green) and make a right hand double knot with string #6 (green). String #5 (green) will now be in slot 6.
6. Take string #8 (blue) and make 2 left hand double knots. One each, on string #7 (white) and string #6 (green). String #8 (blue) will now be in slot 6.
7. Take string #8 (white) and make a single left single right hand knot with string #7 (green). String #8 (white) will stay in slot 8.
8. Take string #3 (blue) and make 4 right hand double knots. One each, on string #4 (white), string #5 (green), string #6 (blue) & string #7 (green). String #3 (blue) will now be in slot 7.
9. Take string #7 (blue) and make a single right single left hand knot with string #8 (white). String #7 (blue) will stay in slot 7.
10. Take string #3 (white) and make a single right single left hand knot with string #4 (green). String #3 (white) will stay in slot 3.
11. Take string #5 (blue) to make a left hand double knot with string #4 (green). String #5 (blue) will now be in slot 4.
12. Take string #4 (blue) and make a single left single right hand knot with string #3 (white). String #4 (blue) will stay in slot 4.
13. Take string #5 (green) and make a right hand double knot with string #6 (green). String #5 (green) will now be in slot 6.
14. Take string #7 (blue) and make a left hand double knot with string #6 (green). String #7 (blue) will now be in slot 6.
15. Take string #8 (white) and make a single left single right hand knot with string #7 (green). String #8 (white) will stay in slot 8.
16. Take string #4 (blue) and make 4 right hand double knots. One each, on string #5 (green), string #6 (blue), string #7 (green) & string #8 (white). String #4 (blue) will now be in slot 8.
17. Take string #3 (white) and make a single right single left hand knot with string #4 (green). String #3(white) will stay in slot 3.
18. Take string #5 (blue) and make 2 left hand double knots. One each, on string #4 (green) & string #3 (white). String #5 (blue) will now be in slot 3.
19. Take string #5 (green) and make 2 right hand double knots. One each, on string #6 (green) & string #7 (white). String #5 (green) will now be in slot 7.
20. Take string #7 (green) and make a single right single left hand knot with string #8 (blue). String #7 (green) will stay in slot 7.
21. Take string #5 (green) and make a left hand double knot with string #4 (white). String #5 (green) will now be in slot 4.
22. Take string #4 (green) to make a single left single right hand knot with string #3 (blue). String #4 (green) will stay in slot 4.
23. Take string #5 (white) and make a right hand double knot with string #6 (white). String #5 (white) will now be in slot 6.
24. Take string #7 (green) and make a left hand double knot with string #6 (white). String #7 (green) will now be in slot 6.
25. Take string #4 (green) and make right hand double knot with string #5 (white). String #4 (green) will now be in slot 5.
26. At this point you should have completed your pattern. Repeat steps 5-25 to continue the pattern until your bracelet is long enough to fit your wrist.
27. Once you bracelet is long enough to fit your wrist take two strings from the slots 3 & 4 in your left hand and two strings from slots 7 & 8 in your right hand and braid with the remaining 2 center strings.
28. Take the braided strings and tie two basic knots at the end of your X2 friendship bracelet pattern.
29. Un-clip your friendship bracelet from the butterfly clip and cut off the excess braided section. Your bracelet made with the X2 friendship bracelet pattern is ready to wear or share with your best friend or mom.
