Paw Print Design Tutorial

1. Pick 2 different colors. (The example uses black & white). You will need 2 strands of black & 3 strands of white.

2. Align string, fold in half, and tie knot ½ inch from fold forming a loop.

3. Attach your ½ inch loop to MYFBM under the butterfly clip.

4. Separate strings by placing one string per slot. Note: Use the same color in slots 2, 4, 6, 8 & 9 (white) & slots 3, 5 & 7 (black). You will have one extra black strand & one extra white strand. You will need to cut the 2 extra strings close to the knot you tied to secure under your clip. This will align the colors of your bracelet pattern.

5. To begin, take string #2 (white) and make a single right single left hand knot with string #3 (black). String #2 (white) will stay in slot 2.

6. Take string #4 (white) and make a single right single left hand knot with string #5 (black). String #4 (white) will stay in slot 4.

7. Take string #6 (white) and make a single right single left hand knot with string #7 (black). String #6 (white) will stay in slot 6.

8. Take string #8 (white) and make a right hand double knot with string #9 (white). String #8 (white) will now be in slot 9.

9. Take string #4 (white) and make a single left single right hand with string #3 (black). String #4 (white) will stay in slot 4.

10. Take string #6 (white) and make a single left single right hand knot with string #5 (black). String #6 (white) will stay in slot 6.

11. Take string #8 (white) and make a single left single right hand knot with string #7 (black). String #8 (white) will stay in slot 8.

12. Take string #2 (white) and make a single right single left hand knot with string #3 (black). String #2 (white) will stay in slot 2.

13. Take string #5 (black) and make a single left single right hand knot with string #4 (white). String #5 (black) will stay in slot 5.

14. Take string #7 (black) and make a single left single right hand with string #6 (white). String #7 (black) will stay in slot 7.

15. Take string #8 (white) and make a right hand double knot with string #9 (white). String #8 (white) will now be in slot 9.

16. Take string #4 (white) and make a single left single right hand knot with string #3 (black). String #4 (white) will stay in slot 4.

17. Take string #6 (white) and make a single left single right hand knot with string #5 (black). String #6 (white) will stay in slot 6.

18. Take string #8 (white) and make a left hand double knot with string #7 (black). String #8 (white) will now be in slot 7.

19. Take string #3 (black) and make single left single right hand knot with string #2 (white). String #3 (black) will stay in slot 3.

20. Take string #4 (white) and make a single right single left hand knot with string #5 (black). String #4 (white) will stay in slot 4.

21. Take string #6 (white) and make a right hand double knot with string #7 (white). String #6 (white) will now be in slot 7.

22. Take string #8 (black) and make a single right single left hand knot with string #9 (white). String #8 (black) will stay in slot 8.

23. Take string #4 (white) and make a single left single right hand knot with string #3 (black). String #4 (white) will stay in slot 4.

24. Take string #5 (black) and make a single right single left hand knot with string #6 (white). String #5 (black) will stay in slot 5.

25. Take string #7 (white) and make a right hand double knot with string #8 (black). String #7 (white) will now be in slot 8.

26. Take string #2 (white) and make a single right single left hand knot with string #3 (black). String #2 (white) will stay in slot 2.

27. Take string #5 (black) and make a single left single right hand knot with string #4 (white). String #5 (black) will stay in slot 5.

28. Take string #7 (black) and make a single left single right hand with string #6 (white). String #7 (black) will stay in slot 7.

29. Take string #8 (white) and make a right hand double knot with string #9 (white). String #8 (white) will now be in slot 9.

30. Take string #3 (black) and make a single right single left hand knot with string #4 (white). String #3 (black) will stay in slot 3.

31. Take string #5 (black) and make a single right single left hand knot with string #6 (white). String #5 (black) will stay in slot 5.

32. Take string #7 (black) and make a single right single left hand knot with string #8 (white). String #7 (black) will stay in slot 7.

33. Take string #2 (white) and make single right single left hand knot with string #3 (black). String #2 (white) will stay in slot 2.

34. Take string #5 (black) and make a single left single right hand knot with string #4 (white). String #5 (black) will stay in slot 5.

35. Take string #7 (black) and make a single left single right hand knot with string #6 (white). String #7 (black) will stay in slot 7.

36. Take string #8 (white) and make a right hand double knot with string #9 (white). String #8 (white) will now be in slot 9.

37. Take string #4 (white) and make a single left single right hand knot with string #3 (black). String #4 (white) will stay in slot 4.

38. Take string #6 (white) and make a single left single right hand with string #5 (black). String #6 (white) will stay in slot 6.

39. Take string #8 (white) and make a single left single right hand knot with string #7 (black). String #8 (white) will stay in slot 8.

40. Take string #2 (white) and make a single right single left hand knot with string #3 (black). String #2 (white) will stay in slot 2.

41. Take string #4 (white) and make a single right single left hand knot with string #5 (black). String #4 (white) will stay in slot 4.

42. Take string #6 (white) and make a single right single left hand knot with string #7 (black). String #6 (white) will stay in slot 6.

43. Take string #8 (white) and make a right hand double knot with string #9 (white). String #8 (white) will now be in slot 9.

44. Take string #4 (white) and make a single left single right hand knot with string #3 (black). String #4 (white) will stay in slot 4.

45. Take string #6 (white) and make a single left single right hand knot with string #5 (black). String #6 (white) will stay in slot 6.

46. Take string #8 (white) and make a single left single right hand knot with string #7 (black). String #8 (white) will stay in slot 8.

47. At this point you have completed one rotation of the pattern. Repeat steps 5-46 to continue the pattern until your bracelet is long enough to fit your wrist.

48. Once you bracelet is long enough to fit your wrist take two strings from the slots 2 & 3 in your left hand and two strings from slots 8 & 9 in your right hand and braid with the remaining 4 center strings.

49. Take the braided strings and tie two basic knots at the end of your friendship bracelet.

50. Unclip your friendship bracelet from the butterfly clip and cut off the excess braided section. Your bracelet made with the friendship bracelet pattern Paw Print is ready to wear or share!
