Diamond Peak Design Tutorial
1. Pick 6 different colors. (The example uses blue, pink, purple, orange, white & green). You will need 3 strands of blue, 1 strand of pink, 2 strands of purple, 2 strands of orange, 1 strand of white & 1 strand of green. This example uses full length strings. See video, Using Full Length Strings if you have questions on how to tie your knot and then attach the knot under your clip. Skip to step 4.
2. Align string, fold in half, and tie knot ½ inch from fold forming a loop.
3. Attach your ½ inch loop to MYFBM under the butterfly clip.
4. Separate strings by placing one string per slot. Note: Use the same color in slot 1 (green), slots 2 & 6 (purple), slots 3 & 4 (orange), slot 5 (white), slot 7 (pink) & slots 8, 9 & 10 (blue).
5. To begin, take string #10 (blue) and make a single left single right hand knot with string #9 (blue). String #10 (blue) will stay in slot 10.
6. Take string #7 (pink) and make 3 right hand double knots. One each, on string #8 (blue), string #9 (blue) & string #10 (blue). String #7 (pink) will now be in slot 10.
7. Take string #6 (purple) and make a single left single right hand knot with string #5 (white). String #6 (purple) will stay in slot 6.
8. Take string #6 (purple) and make 3 right hand double knots. One each, on string #7 (blue), string #8 (blue) & string #9 (blue). String #6 (purple) will now be in slot 9.
9. Take string #9 (purple) and make a single right single left hand knot with string #10 (pink). String #9 (purple) will stay in slot 9.
10. Take string #3 (orange) and make a single right single left hand knot with string #4 (orange). String #3 (orange) will stay in slot 3.
11. Take string #1 (green) and make a single right single left hand knot with string #2 (purple). String #1 (green) will stay in slot 1.
12. Take string #2 (purple) and make a single right single left hand knot with string #3 (orange). String #2 (purple) will stay in slot 2.
13. Take string #5 (white) and make a single left single right hand knot with string #4 (orange). String #5 (white) will stay in slot 5.
14. Take string #5 (white) and make 2 right hand double knots. One each, on string #6 (blue) & string #7 (blue). String #5 (white) will now be in slot 7.
15. Take string #7 (white) and make a single right single left hand knot with string #8 (blue). String #7 (white) will stay in slot 7.
16. Take string #1 (green) and make a single right single left hand knot with string #2 (purple). String #1 (green) will stay in slot 1.
17. Take string #3 (orange) and make 2 right hand double knots. One each, on string #4 (orange) & string #5 (blue). String #3 (orange) will now be in slot 5.
18. Take string #5 (orange) and make a single right single left hand knot with string #6 (blue). String #5 (orange) will stay in slot 5.
19. Take string #3 (orange) and make a left hand double knot with string #2 (purple). String #3 (orange) will now be in slot 2.
20. Take string #2 (orange) and make a single left single right hand knot with string #1 (green). String #2 (orange) will stay in slot 2.
21. Take string #3 (purple) and make a single right single left hand knot with string #4 (blue). String #3 (purple) will stay in slot 3.
22. Take string #5 (orange) and make a left hand double knot with string #4 (blue). String #5 (orange) will now be in slot 4.
23. Take string #2 (orange) and make 2 right hand double knots. One each, on string #3 (purple) & string #4 (orange). String #2 (orange) will now be in slot 4.
24. Take string #1 (green) and make a single right single left hand knot with string #2 (purple). String #1 (green) will stay in slot 1.
25. Take string #2 (purple) and make a single right single left hand knot with string #3 (orange). String #2 (purple) will stay in slot 2.
26. Take string #7 (white) and make 2 left hand double knots. One each, on string #6 (blue) & string #5 (blue). String #7 (white) will now be in slot 5.
27. Take string #5 (white) and make a single left single right hand knot with string #4 (orange). String #5 (white) will stay in slot 5.
28. Take string #9 (purple) and make 3 left hand double knots. One each, on string #8 (blue), string #7 (blue) & string #6 (blue). String #9 (purple) will now be in slot 6.
29. Take string #6 (purple) and make a single left single right hand knot with string #5 (white). String #6 (purple) will stay in slot 6.
30. Take string #10 (pink) and make 3 left hand double knots. One each, on string #9 (blue), string #8 (blue) & string #7 (blue). String #10 (pink) will now be in slot 7.
31. Take string #7 (pink) and make a single left single right hand knot with string #6 (purple). String #7 (pink) will stay in slot 7.
32. Take string #10 (blue) and make a single left single right hand knot with string #9 (blue). String #10 (blue) will stay in slot 10.
33. Take string #9 (blue) and make a single left single right hand knot with string #8 (blue). String #9 (blue) will stay in slot 9.
34. Take string #4 (orange) and make a single left single right hand knot with string #3 (orange). String #4 (orange) will stay in slot 4.
35. Take string #1 (green) and make a single right single left hand knot with string #2 (purple). String #1 (green) will stay in slot 1.
36. Take string #2 (purple) and make a single right single left hand knot with string #3 (orange). String #2 (purple) will stay in slot 2.
37. Take string #5 (white) and make a single left single right hand knot with string #4 (orange). String #5 (white) will stay in slot 5.
38. At this point your pattern will now repeat itself. Repeat steps 5-37 to continue the pattern until your bracelet is long enough to fit your wrist.
39. Once you bracelet is long enough to fit your wrist take strings from the slots 1, 2 & 3 in your left hand and the strings from slots 8, 9 & 10 in your right hand and braid with the remaining 4 center strings.
40. Take the braided strings and tie two basic knots at the end of your friendship bracelet.
41. Unclip your friendship bracelet from the butterfly clip and cut off the excess braided section. Your bracelet made with the friendship bracelet pattern Diamond Peak design is ready to wear or share!
