1. Pick 3 different colors. (The example uses red, black & dark green). You will need 2 strands of red, 1 strand of black & 3 strands of dark green.
2. Align string, fold in half, and tie knot • inch from fold forming a loop.
3. Attach your • inch loop to MYFBM under the butterfly clip.
4. This pattern uses 12 strings which is exceeds the amount of slots that the MYFBM holds. You will need to have one string loose on each end. The string hanging loose on the left hand side will be referred to as #0 & the one loose string on the right will be referred to as #11. Separate strings by placing one string per slot. Note: Use the same color in slots 0, 2, 9 & 11 (red), slots 1, 3, 5, 6, 8 & 10 (dark green) & slots 4 & 7 (black). This will align the colors of your bracelet pattern.
5. To begin, take string #7 (black) and make a left hand double knot with string #6 (green). String #7 (black) will now be in slot 6.
6. Take string #10 (green) and make a right hand double knot with string #11 (red). String #10 (green) will now be in slot 11 (hanging loose on right side).
7. Take string #8 (green) and make 3 right hand double knots. One each, on string #9 (red), string #10 (red) & string #11 (green). String #8 (green) will now be in slot 11 (hanging loose on right hand side).
8. Take string #7 (green) and make 4 right hand double knots. One each, on string #8 (red), string #9 (red), string #10 (green) & string #11 (green). String #7 (green) will be in slot 11 (hanging loose on the right hand side).
9. Take string #4 (black) and make a 2 right hand double knots. One each, on string #5 (green) and string #6 (black). String #4 (black) will now be in slot 6.
10. Take string #6 (black) and make a single right single left hand knot with string #7 (red). String #6 (black) will stay in slot 6.
11. Take string #7 (red) and make 2 right hand double knots. One each, on string #8 (red) and string #9 (green). String #7 (red) will now be in slot 9.
12. Take string #9 (red) and make a single right single left hand knot with string #10 (green). String #9 (red) will stay in slot 9.
13. Take string #1 (green) and make a left hand double knot with string #0 (red – loose string on left side). String #1 (green) will now be in slot 0 (hanging loose on left side).
14. Take string #3 (green) and make 3 left hand double knots. One each, on string #2 (red), string #1 (red) & string #0 (green). String #3 (green) will now be in slot 0 (hanging loose on left side).
15. Take string #4 (green) and make 4 left hand double knots. One each, on string #3 (red), string #2 (red), string #1 (green) & string #0 (green). String #4 (green) will now be in slot 0 (hanging loose on left side).
16. Take string #5 (black) and make a single left single right hand knot with string #4 (red). String #5 (black) will stay in slot 5.
17. Take string #5 (black) and make a right hand double knot with string #6 (black). String #5 (black) will now be in slot 6.
18. Take string #4 (red) and make 2 left hand double knots. One each, on string #3 (red) & string #2 (green). String #4 (red) will now be in slot 2.
19. Take string #2 (red) and make a single left single right hand knot with string #1 (green). String #2 (red) will stay in slot 2.
20. Take string #7 (red) and make a left hand double knot with string #6 (black). String #7 (red) will now be in slot 6.
21. Take string #7 (black) and make a single right single left hand knot with string #8 (green). String #7 (black) will stay in slot 7.
22. Take string #9 (red) and make a single left single right hand knot with string #8 (green). String #9 (red) will stay in slot 9.
23. Take string #4 (red) and make 4 right hand double knots. One each, on string #5 (black), string #6 (red), string #7 (black) & string #8 (green). String #4 (red) will now be in slot 8.
24. Take string #4 (black) and make a single left single right hand knot with string #3 (green). String #4 (black) will stay in slot 4.
25. Take string #2 (red) and make a single right single left hand knot with string #3 (green). String #2 (red) will stay in slot 2.
26. Take string #5 (red) and make 2 left hand double knots. One each, on string #4 (black) & string #3 (green). String #5 (red) will now be in slot 3.
27. Take string #5 (black) and make a right hand double knot with string #6 (black). String #5 (black) will now be in slot 6.
28. Take string #7 (green) and make a left hand double knot with string #6 (black). String #7 (green) will now be in slot 6.
29. Take string #4 (green) and make 2 right hand double knots. One each, on string #5 (black) & string #6 (green). String #4 (green) will now be in slot 6.
30. Take string #0 (green – loose string on left side) and make 3 right hand double knots. One each, on string #1 (green), string #2 (red) & string #3 (red). String #0 (green) will now be in slot 3.
31. Take string #3 (green) and make a single right single left hand knot with string #4 (black). String #3 (green) will stay in slot 3.
32. Take string #0 (green) and make a right hand double knot with string #1 (red). String #0 (green) will now be in slot 1.
33. Take string #1 (green) and make a single right single left hand knot with string #2 (red). String #1 (green) will stay in slot 1.
34. Take string #11 (green – loose string on right side) and make 3 left hand double knots. One each, on string #10 (green), string #9 (red) & string #8 (red). String #11 (green) will now be in slot 8.
35. Take string #8 (green) and make a single left single right hand knot with string #7 (black). String #8 (green) will stay in slot 8.
36. Take string #11 (green) and make a left hand double knot with string #10 (red). String #11 (green) will now be in slot 10.
37. Take string #10 (green) and make a single left single right hand knot with string #9 (red). String #10 will stay in slot 10.
38. At this point your pattern will now repeat itself. Repeat steps 5-37 to continue the pattern until your bracelet is long enough to fit your wrist.
39. Once your bracelet is long enough to fit your wrist take strings from the slots 0-3 in your left hand and the strings from slots 8-11 in your right hand and braid with the remaining 4 center strings.
40. Take the braided strings and tie two basic knots at the end of your friendship bracelet.
41. Unclip your friendship bracelet from the butterfly clip and cut off the excess braided section. Your MyFBM friendship bracelet made with Ladybug friendship bracelet pattern is ready to wear or share!
