Diabetes Circle of Blue Design Tutorial

1. Pick 2 different colors. (The example uses white & light blue). You will need 3 strands of light blue & 3 strands of white.

2. Align string, fold in half, and tie knot ½ inch from fold forming a loop.

3. Attach your ½ inch loop to MYFBM under the butterfly clip.

4. Separate strings by placing one string per slot. Note: Use the same color in slots 1, 3, 5, 7 & 9 (white) & slots 2, 4, 6, 8 & 10 (light blue). There will be one extra white strand and one extra light blue strand that will need to be cut close to you knot.

5. To begin, take string #1 (white) and make a single right single left hand knot with string #2 (blue). String #1 (white) will stay in slot 1.

6. Take string #3 (white) and make a single right single left hand knot with string #4 (blue). String #3 (white) will stay in slot 3.

7. Take string #5 (white) and make a single right single left hand knot with string #6 (blue). String #5 (white) will stay in slot 5.

8. Take string #7 (white) and make a single right single left hand knot with string #8 (blue). String #7 (white) will stay in slot 7.

9. Take string #9 (white) and make a single right single left hand knot with string #10 (blue). String #9 (white) will stay in slot 9.

10. Take string #3 (white) and make a single left single right hand knot with string #2 (blue). String #3 (white) will stay in slot 3.

11. Take string #5 (white) and make a single left single right hand knot with string #4 (blue). String #5 (white) will stay in slot 5.

12. Take string #7 (white) and make a single left single right hand knot with string #6 (blue). String #7 (white) will stay in slot 7.

13. Take string #9 (white) and make a single left single right hand knot with string #8 (blue). String #9 (white) will stay in slot 9.

14. Take string #1 (white) and make a single right single left hand knot with string #2 (blue). String #1 (white) will stay in slot 1.

15. Take string #4 (blue) and make a single left single right hand knot with string #3 (white). String #4 (blue) will stay in slot 4.

16. Take string #6 (blue) and make a single left single right hand knot with string #5 (white). String #6 (blue) will stay in slot 6.

17. Take string #8 (blue) and make a single left single right hand knot with string #7 (white). String #8 (blue) will stay in slot 8.

18. Take string #9 (white) and make a single right single left hand knot with string #10 (blue). String #9 (white) will stay in slot 9.

19. Take string #2 (blue) and make a single right single left hand knot with string #3 (white). String #2 (blue) will stay in slot 2.

20. Take string #4 (blue) and make a single right single left hand knot with string #5 (white). String #4 (blue) will stay in slot 4.

21. Take string #6 (blue) and make a single right single left hand knot with string #7 (white). String #6 (blue) will stay in slot 6.

23. Take string #2 (blue) and make a single left single right hand knot with string #1 (white). String #2 (blue) will stay in slot 2.

24. Take string #4 (blue) and make a single left single right hand knot with string #3 (white). String #4 (blue) will stay in slot 4.

25. Take string #5 (white) and make a single right single left hand knot with string #6 (blue). String #5 (white) will stay in slot 5.

26. Take string #8 (blue) and make a single left single right hand knot with string #7 (white). String #8 (blue) will stay in slot 8.

27. Take string #10 (blue) and make a single left single right hand knot with string #9 (white). String #10 (blue) will stay in slot 10.

28. Take string #2 (blue) and make a single right single left hand knot with string #3 (white). String #2 (blue) will stay in slot 2.

29. Take string #5 (white) and make a single left single right hand knot with string #4 (blue). String #5 (white) will stay in slot 5.

30. Take string #7 (white) and make a single left single right hand knot with string #6 (blue). String #7 (white) will stay in slot 7.

33. Take string #3 (white) and make a single right single left hand knot with string #4 (blue). String #3 (white) will stay in slot 3.

34. Take string #5 (white) and make a single right single left hand knot with string #6 (blue). String #5 (white) will stay in slot 5.

35. Take string #7 (white) and make a single right single left hand knot with string #8 (blue). String #7 (white) will stay in slot 7.

36. Take string #10 (blue) and make a single left single right hand knot with string #9 (white). String #10 (blue) will stay in slot 10.

37. Take string #2 (blue) and make a single right single left hand knot with string #3 (white). String #2 (blue) will stay in slot 2.

38. Take string #5 (white) and make a single left single right hand knot with string #4 (blue). String #5 (white) will stay in slot 5.

39. Take string #7 (white) and make a single left single right hand knot with string #6 (blue). String #7 (white) will stay in slot 7.

40. Take string #8 (blue) and make a single right single left hand knot with string #9 (white). String #8 (blue) will stay in slot 8.

41. Take string #2 (blue) and make a single left single right hand knot with string #1 (white). String #2 (blue) will stay in slot 2.

42. Take string #4 (blue) and make a single left single right hand knot with string #3 (white). String #4 (blue) will stay in slot 4.

43. Take string #5 (white) and make a single right single left hand knot with string #6 (blue). String #5 (white) will stay in slot 5.

44. Take string #8 (blue) and make a single left single right hand knot with string #7 (white). String #8 (blue) will stay in slot 8.

45. Take string #10 (blue) and make a single left single right hand knot with string #9 (white). String #10 (blue) will stay in slot 10.

46. Take string #2 (blue) and make a single right single left hand knot with string #3 (white). String #2 (blue) will stay in slot 2.

47. Take string #4 (blue) and make a single right single left hand knot with string #5 (white). String #4 (blue) will stay in slot 4.

48. Take string #6 (blue) and make a single right single left hand knot with string #7 (white). String #6 (blue) will stay in slot 6.

49. Take string #8 (blue) and make a single right single left hand knot with string #9 (white). String #8 (blue) will stay in slot 8.

50. Take string #1 (white) and make a single right single left hand knot with string #2 (blue). String #1 (white) will stay in slot 1.

51. Take string #4 (blue) and make a single left single right hand knot with string #3 (white). String #4 (blue) will stay in slot 4.

52. Take string #6 (blue) and make a single left single right hand knot with string #5 (white). String #6 (blue) will stay in slot 6.

53. Take string #8 (blue) and make a single left single right hand knot with string #7 (white). String #8 (blue) will stay in slot 8.

54. Take string #9 (white) and make a single right single left hand knot with string #10 (blue). String #9 (white) will stay in slot 9.

55. Take string #3 (white) and make a single left single right hand knot with string #2 (blue). String #3 (white) will stay in slot 3.

56. Take string #5 (white) and make a single left single right hand knot with string #4 (blue). String #5 (white) will stay in slot 5.

57. Take string #7 (white) and make a single left single right hand knot with string #6 (blue). String #7 (white) will stay in slot 7.

58. Take string #9 (white) and make a single left single right hand knot with string #8 (blue). String #9 (white) will stay in slot 9.

59. At this point your pattern will now repeat itself. Repeat steps 5-58 to continue the pattern until your bracelet is long enough to fit your wrist.

60. Once your bracelet is long enough to fit your wrist take strings from the slots 1, 2 & 3 in your left hand and the strings from slots 8, 9 & 10 in your right hand and braid with the remaining 4 center strings.

61. Take the braided strings and tie two basic knots at the end of your friendship bracelet. 

62. Unclip your friendship bracelet from the butterfly clip and cut off the excess braided section. Your bracelet made with the friendship bracelet pattern Diabetes Circle of Blue is ready to wear or share!
